OpenIDEO is a global community of professionals working together to design solutions for the world’s biggest challenges.
The OpenIDEO online platform connects communities across the world to challenges proposed by partners such as the Rockefeller Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and USAID. Through education in design thinking and the opportunity to put these skills into action on the OpenIDEO online platform and in-person with local chapters, members get real-world practice in solving problems using design thinking.
In LA, our chapter events take on the online real-world challenge to collaboratively ideate solutions using design thinking exercises.
We strive to focus on local challenges in addition to global challenges and partner with local nonprofits and social innovators. We want to take design thinking beyond the theories and see them working in our local communities.
