How might we design new programs to improve the lives of homeless members of our community that will have a lasting impact?
The OpenIDEO, Los Angeles Chapter, is hosting an event series focused on addressing one of our community's most prevalent social issues, the homelessness crisis. In our first event, participants practiced basic ideation skills and brainstormed approaches to improving the lives of homeless members of our community that would have a lasting impact. The second event in this series will be a virtual workshop. Participants will examine the ideas produced in the first event and develop those approaches into working prototypes.
Don't worry if you weren't able to attend the first event! Newcomers are welcome, and we'll make sure to provide all the necessary context you need to jump in and contribute as we begin to bring our best ideas to life!
In this event we will learn how to improve ideas through prototyping, what makes a good prototype, and how to test big ideas on a small budget. Our goals are to empower everyday people to pitch in, create recurring patterns of charitable behavior, and develop public services that may be useful to all people. If this sounds exciting to you, please join us!
RSVP to join, and we'll see you there!
Event Date: Sunday, October 17th, 12 pm - 1:30 pm
