Why are we running this session?

Collaboration and storytelling are powerful ways to create change. As researchers, designers and innovators working across different sectors and regions, we want to come together to share and learn from each other. The session will provide an opportunity to:

Hear from Emma Parnell (she/her), Head of Design a Joy, and her story working on the Covid-19 vaccination booking service at NHS Digital and how she ensured that the service was inclusive for people of any sex or gender;

Be inspired by stories from the OpenIDEO London Chapter Community who have tackled challenges around food systems and education through COVID-19;

Learn about the OpenIDEO London Chapter community, how they are supporting opportunities to put human-centred design into practice through global initiatives and how you can take part; and

Connect with each other!

How do OpenIDEO Chapters work?

OpenIDEO is an open innovation platform to help people worldwide break barriers, find support, and iterate on the ideas of many to create real change.

Local Chapters host events to facilitate the development of fresh, scaleable ideas to address issues that matter. Anyone can take part - with or without a predetermined idea. Our London Chapter facilitators will help participants explore and submit proposals to be submitted on the OpenIDEA platform. The most promising will be selected for further development.
